Are helium balloons safe?
Yes! Helium is an inert, non explosive, non toxic gas. However it shouldn't be inhaled from the balloon as this may cause asphyxiation.
I've ordered some balloons for my birthday party, the venue want's to know if you're insured.
Yes we are. We're fully insured with public / product liability up to 5 million pounds. All our staff are fully trained and we are also a member of NABAS.
How long will my balloons float for?
This depends on your type of balloon. Helium filled foil balloons will last for days, sometimes even weeks depending on the conditions. Latex balloons will vary in float time. We have put together a simple table for you below:
11" Latex 18 - 24 hours
16" Latex 30+ hours
24" Latex 2 - 3 days
18" Foil Balloon 3 - 5 Days
Qualatex Bubble 4 Weeks +
I've ordered some balloons from you. Can someone else sign for the delivery?
Yes.
What is the difference between a helium filled balloon and one filled with air?
Helium balloons will float, air filled ones won't.
I've ordered some balloons for delivery. I won't be in that day, can you leave them round the back?
No! Balloons are susceptible to the environment around them and we can't guarantee the quality of them if left outside. Plus all deliveries need to be signed for.
I'm not in the Manchester area can you deliver me some inflated balloons?
Not at present no. Although we are always expanding our delivery area
Do you accept cheques as payment?
We do! However all cheques need to be cleared prior to the delivery of your goods, so if you need your balloons in a hurry it's best to pay by credit or debit card.
I've seen a package of balloons on your website, but want different colours - can you do this for me?
Yes! Please email, fax or phone us with your requirements and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
I've ordered some balloons to be delivered, what time will they come?
We aim to deliver your balloons at a time suitable for you, you can suggest a delivery time when ordering. Should delivery be attempted and noone is home, a card will be left and the balloons will be returned to us.
What is your returns policy?
If for any reason you are unhappy with any non perishable products you have purchased from us, then we will be happy to refund or exchange your purchase. However
- Returns should be made within 28 days of purchase and in the original packaging
- The product has not been damaged and is in a re-saleable condition
If this is not the case then we reserve the right to withhold any claim for a refund.
My delivery is due outside your phone opening times. How will I contact you if there is a problem?

What will happen if a balloon is out of stock?
We will notify you as quickly as possible. We may offer alternatives or may apply a discretionary discount.
How do i complain?
We hope you'll never have to as we take great care with all orders. However should something go wrong please contact us on 0800 622 6758 or email us info@bns-balloons.co.uk . We hope to sort all problems out on the day!

Can I include a message with my balloons after i've ordered?
Yes, phone 0800 622 67 58. (Unfortunately we can't add a card once your order has left for delivery.)
Can I change my order?
Please phone us as quickly as possible if changes need to be made. Extra charges may apply.
Why did my foil balloons got smaller the moment I took them outside the shop?
Firstly don't worry! In cold weather you will notice that your foil balloon will look under inflated. This is caused by the helium gas 'shrinking' inside the balloon. However as soon as it returns to room temperature it will return to its original state. However please don't keep the helium balloons in the cold for long or the helium wont re-inflate.
As we've just discussed helium expands when it get warm. So it's very important you do not let your balloons become too warm or it might burst. Should you require any more information please see a member of staff.
I've hired a helium tank from you. Is it safe?
Yes. Helium is an inert gas. It's not toxic and doesn't cause harm to the environment. However under no circumstances should helium be inhaled due to the hazard of asphyxiation
Should I take any special precautions with balloons?
Yes! Children require adult supervision when inflating balloons. Children & Adults can choke on uninflated or broken balloons, always discard broken balloons at once. Always use a balloon pump to inflate balloons.
What are your balloons made from?
Our balloons are made of Natural Rubber Latex and are 100% bio-degradable.
I've booked some wedding decor. Will I have to assemble it on the day myself or will you?
All the Room dressing services that we provide include set-up in the price. We'll arrive at your venue and make sure everything is perfect before any guests arrive.
